The importance of staff training is a fundemental requirement of the new licensing act for Scotland. The new licensing act states that all staff members whether paid or unpaid, are required to acheive a basic knowledge and understanding of the new scottish licensing act.
This means all staff serving alcohol from behind a bar or sales counter require basic staff training on Scottish licensing law. This would include off-licence or supermarket staff, individuals working in a bar, hotel, night club or under a temporary event notice.

SCLPS Staff Training Course Book, SCLPS Test and Certificate of competence
To provide evidence of staff training under the Scottish licensing Act (2005) we have developed a downloadable PDF test paper. The (SCLPS) staff licensing test will provide evidence of staff knowledge and competence on the new licensing Act for Scotland.
The (SCLPS) test is simple and consists of 20 multipule choice questions taken from the training criteria to be covered under the Act. Once the test paper has been completed we then require you to return the test paper, this can be done via fax, e-mail or post. Once the (SCLPS) test has been marked we will then forward a certificate of competence for each candidate.
