Scottish Personal Licence Re-Training

Scottish personal licence holder’s duty to undertake training every 5 years

At five years from the date of issue, the personal licence holder is obliged to undertake a refresher SCPLH. From this five-year point, the licence holder has up to three months in which to complete the refresher training and provide evidence (by means of certification) to the licensing board of completion. Your licensing board should notify you of this requirement.

If a personal licence holder fails to undertake the refresher training, the Licensing Board is obliged by the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 to revoke the personal licence.

These obligations are to be found in section 87 of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005.
