PERSONAL LICENCE HOLDER COURSES

SCPLH Level 6

The alcohol licensing qualification for Scotland is known as the Scottish Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) level 6. This SQA accredited licensing qualification is acceptable to all licensing boards in Scotland and will allow the holder to become a Scottish personal licence holder.

To gain this licensing qualification candidates will need to undertake a one day training course on the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005. At the end of the training candidates will sit a multiple choice level 6 examination.  This qualification is awarded by BIIAB Scotland.

SCPLH Refresher

Scottish personal licence holders must refresh their training and knowledge of the Scottish licensing Act every five years from the date of grant of their personal licence. This qualification is know as the SCPLH refresher and is acceptable to all licensing boards in Scotland and will allow the holder to extend their Scottish personal licence.

Candidates will need to undertake a one day refresher training course. At the end of the training candidates will sit a multiple choice level 6 examination.  This SCPLH refresher qualification  is awarded by BIIAB Scotland.

APLH Level 2

The alcohol licensing qualification for England & Wales is known as the Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) level 2. This OFQUAL accredited licensing qualification is acceptable to all licensing authorities in England & Wales and will allow the holder to become a personal licence holder.

To gain this licensing qualification candidates will need to undertake a one day training course in England on the Licensing Act 2003. At the end of the training candidates will sit a multiple choice level 2 examination.  This qualification is awarded by BIIAB.
